How
can the voice of the child and children’s
participation effectively empower Registered
Childminders to become Reflective Practitioners?
I
undertook research with childminders around
reflective practice, listening to children
and professional development for my BA Hons
Early Years Care and Education earlier this
year. I would like to take this opportunity
of thanking each and every childminder who
either completed a questionnaire for me,
participated in a focus group or just gave
me their thoughts over the telephone, email
or in person. You
can read the paper here [PDF
Document]. I hope you find, in some
way, my research a little interesting.
This
was a piece of research undertaken in a
very limited period of 3 months and can
be seen as phase 1 of the study with perhaps
another 9 months required to follow on this
research and make it a truly meaningful
document rather than a means to an end.
Nevertheless, this valuable process brought
about many discussions for Trio around our
support services and continues to provide
the framework for developing these.
